After four years, I have decided it is about time to start posting regularly on my blog. I have actually really missed it. After the loss of Donald Trump, to Biden, in 2020, I was so disgusted with the state of affairs, in our great Republic, that I literally lost any desire to post. Not that I didn’t have anything to say, mind you, but it felt like there was no reason to bloviate about my disgust.
Now that that Trump is back in office, I feel it is my duty to start back up. We ARE Making America Great Again!
So here is a brief update on what I have been doing the past four years:
Perhaps the most significant development for me, was bringing Jaeger into my household in December 2023. After being without a dog for several years, I decided I was ready to bring one back in my house. I found Jaeger at a reputable local breeder. His momma was brought to the breeder, from Germany, when she was pregnant with his litter. His daddy is from Austria. Both parents had significant success at European dog shows. This 95 pound bundle of love is AKC registered and had sired one litter before he came home with me at 18 months old. I am truly blessed to have found this awesome companion.
In June 2024, I added a new Harley-Davidson Street Glide ST to the fold. This is an Enthusiast Collection bike – in the Fast Johnny trim. Like the Grey Ghost, more on this later, it has the 117 cubic inch engine. And being that it is stripped down (no Tour Pack), it is flat out fast. I love the color scheme of this bike, which The Motor Company designed as a tribute to the American muscle cars of the 1960s and 70s. I think it was more specifically fashioned after the old Yenko Camaros.
In February of this year, an era ended. After riding the 2020 CVO Limited for nearly six years and 46,000 miles, my Harley dealer made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. The Grey Ghost was an amazing machine and never gave me any issues. But since Jaeger travels with me on all trips, I did not need a monster dump truck like the GG.
My new primary scoot is a 2024 CVO Road Glide. This girl is wickedly fast with the Screaming Eagle 121 cubic inch engine. This engine has Variable Valve Timing (VVT) which provides more torque at all engine speeds. This is also the first Harley I have owned with Rider modes. I prefer the Beast Mode which Harley Davidson calls Sport Mode. In the six months I have owned this fabulous machine, I have put 5,400 miles on her. And since I name all of my bikes, this one is named too. I put it to a poll on X, and Dorothy won the poll. So now she’s Dirty Dorothy. You might ask why I call her dirty… Well it’s because she is fast, like a lady of the night!
With Jaeger traveling with me, on all of my trips, you will know it’s me if you see my Ram 1500 with a toy hauler and bikes:
I look forward to restarting my blogging journey with all y’all. Until next time, have a great one. And ride a lot.
